The Tunisian Publishers Association, with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, is organizing Today a new cultural event on the book entitled "The Tunisian National Book Fair" which will be held from 19 to 28 October 2018 in the City of Culture.



The National Exhibition held in a response to the expectations of the intellectuals and hoped to attract the attention of all Tunisians.



It was founded in the general cultural movement accompanying the inauguration of the City of Culture and the celebration of the year 2018 as a national book year. aspires to play a multi-faceted role: cultural, economic, social, tourism,




The exhibition will be held under the slogan "The Tunisian Book brings us together" and will be devoted exclusively to the publications which was issued by a Tunisian publishing house and that carry ISBN Tunisian edition.

This event is expected to be attended by 76 publishers and 45,000 titles in various literary fields. which Held area about 2,000 square meters.



A number of activities will be held during the exhibition, including cultural seminars and book councils run by Tunisian artists and writers.



Four competitions will be organized: "The Child's Book", "The Creative Book" (Story-novel-Poetry), "The Intellectual Book", "Translated book" and each prize is worth 10,000 Tunisian Dinars ( 10 million).



According to the President of the Federation of Publishers Mohammed Saleh Mahfel, Executive Director of the National Book Fair, is expected to contribute this event to create new mobility and emergence of a new intellectual and literary productions.



Regarding the timing of this Book Fair, he said that he was keen to leave a period between this event and the Tunis International Book Fair, as well as to avoid contradicting with the dates of other Arab or foreign exhibitions involving the owners of Tunisian publishing houses.
